Our greatest assets at esense are the very talented employees that are carefully picked from a large base of applicants. We take pride in providing an environment that helps those talents flourish and prosper.
The most important bond that we can create is that amongst esensers themselves. esense creates enough space for employees to interact with each other, and help each other in need. Community Service is one of the delights of working amongst our community. We help each other in need, give out presents in occasions of weddings, engagements, or graduation, and we throw birthday parties each month.
Keeping the young seated for 5 to 6 hours a day is mission impossible, and we at esense do not try to accomplish it. Every now and then we create opportunities for company activities, ranging from company hosted lunches, surprise breakfast meals, Ramadan Iftar, or simple arrangements of going out for a movie, or Argeeleh nights. We also have a steady Tuesday Activity night that we encourage as many employees to attend. Tuesday activities could be watching a movie in-house (with our hi-tech home movie theater), playing network games, playing cards, or sports night. We also have a free night when somebody can suggest an activity, and the company arranges for it.
Getting in touch with each other in the office may be regarded by some companies as wasted productivity, we at esense value the open communication channel between different members of the company. In order for team members to produce better results, get inspired and be creative in their tasks, instant communication is one of the tools to the questions raised, and requests made. We rely on email, network file share, and Sharesense (ShairPoint Portal) for our delayed responses, and we rely on MSN messanger for instant replies. It has become a culture in esense that once you are accepted amongst us, you should send everyone an email with your msn name. Recently we also made use of Windows Communicator. It is very helpful and integrates directly with Exchange and the Active Directory. In addition with tight integration with Office tools.
We at esense, strongly believe that open and honest communication with everyone is appreciated and productive. We communicate through team-based meetings upon request, scheduled meetings for reviews, and company level meetings on weekly basis. Management can be contacted just as easily as contacting any company member.
Creating the right atmosphere in the office could also be challenging because of the nature of closed-office jobs we have. Yet with the open space amongst cubicles, everyone can directly interact with everyone, creating a more relaxing and friendlier environment. In addition to the coffee makers and microwave machines, our fully equipped kitchens are accessible by employees, and self-service is provided at all times. Lighting and heating systems are installed for best comfort of all employees, and esense, takes the extra steps for making it more of a home-like environment.
Respect amongst each other is the true reward we receive from having an open environment. As all institutions rules are made to help creating a better and more productive atmosphere, not hinder and disturb the working habits. We currently use an electronic access control system to help us report our working hours. Office hours start at 8:00 AM and end at 6:30 PM, with an hour and a half for lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. The Flex time system is adobted at esense, where the core time is defined to be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and the minimum hours covered weekly should be 45 hours. We also created our own ruling "the Watchamacallit Ruling" by which we shift the first week of the month backward in order to give ourselves a longer weekend. Misusing or abusing any of the company facilities or services is not overlooked. Low level of productivity is processed immediately.

Although esense does not encourage overtime, but overtime system may sometimes take place according to project needs. Overtime system is arranged by the company for nominated esensers, and compensated fairly. The systems used are the "exteneded hours" schedule and the "special assignment" program.
Newly graduates are not expected to be thorough and advanced in the technical aspect, thus, esense trains new esensers in-house for three weeks, fully advanced and professional training, that gets them ready to mingle with the rest of the highly talented and advance team members. In addition, esense supports third-party delivered courses, and encourages getting certified by all means.
